3-Day Itinerary: Merzouga & Zagora Desert
Pickup from your hotel/riad in Marrakech. Cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass with scenic stops. Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, continue through Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa), then through the Dades Valley towards Merzouga. Arrive in the evening, ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes, watch the sunset, and enjoy dinner & overnight in a Sahara desert camp.
Wake up for a magical sunrise over the dunes, then camel ride back to the village. Drive towards Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalt region, then continue through dramatic desert landscapes to Zagora. Discover the Draa Valley with its palm groves and kasbahs. Overnight in a desert camp near Zagora with dinner and local music.
Enjoy the sunrise in Zagora, then travel back through the Draa Valley, passing through Agdz and the Anti-Atlas mountains. Stop at scenic viewpoints and cross the High Atlas again. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening, drop-off at your accommodation.
